Bio/Description
Michael Montesano specializes in the intersection of politics and literary expression in West Africa and the Americas. He has published peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and reviews in Research in African Literatures, New Directions and Pedagogical Directions for Black Women Writers, Journal of Black Studies, and African Conflict and Peacebuilding Review. He is also the author of a book of original poetry, “We Hailed at the Twilight.” Montesano is at work on a book manuscript examining literary subversions of systemic inequality in Nigeria, Peru and the United States. Ph.D. Indiana University
